I really didn't like the droid's keyboard, and the thing I didn't like about it was that you couldn't tell at all where you were on the keyboard because of lack of spacing. Also, those two blank "keys" at the bottom were terrible! They made the phone look and feel so "unfinished" and rushed. The keyboard really kinda killed it for me. I found I had to move my thumbs out of the way for each letter, and couldn't get even 2 letters in a row right. Not cool. I'm not a big physical keyboard person but I think I want to be. I'm more than fed up with the iPhone's "intelligent" guessing. (It really likes "N" or at least it thinks I do . . . I get n's instead of spaces all the time.) I'd like a physical keyboard that will really convert me. Believe it or not, the G1's is pretty easy for me to type on. Currently, the 512mb app storage limit and the Droid's keyboard are keeping me on AT&T/iPhone, but I'm confident that early next year, the Droid for me will be available. Good writeup.
