Some screen shots have surfaced showing Android 2.1 running on an HTC Hero, with Sense UI and all. It looks like the Sense UI is remaining relatively unchanged, with just a few minor tweaks required for the 2.0+ features and changes. This is great news for those who thought the Gen 1 Android phones would all be stuck without a 2.0 update. Of course, this could be manipulated via a custom ROM, but I’m feeling lucky today and think this is the real deal.
UPDATE: These are screen shots from a custom ROM build from Drizzy, a well known developer over at XDA Forums. Drizzy claims this is a ROM dump with test keys, so it’s not the official build yet, but word is, it’s close. Check out Drizzy on twitter for more.
