Barnes & Noble will have to delay the in-store arrival of the Nook by one week due to not having enough inventory for the pre-order sales. Obviously this is a little bitter sweet. It’s nice to see you’ve sold more than you expected to sell, but bad that you don’t have enough to release your product on time, especially before the holiday season when sales are booming. Some stores won’t even have a demo unit to preview until Dec 7th. UPDATE: Opps, make that Jan 11th now. For those of us reading this post, we’d be willing to wait an extra week to test it out, but I’m sure for the average consumer, if you are looking to get an eBook reader and B&N doesn’t have one, you’ll just head over to Amazon and pick up a Kindle. The average person looking to get an eBook reader doesn’t even care of the Nook has Android. I was on a flight last night and the passenger next to me had a Kindle. It was a very interesting item, and easy to read. I’ve been intrigued by them and one with Android built in might just make it interesting enough for an investment.
UPDATE: Well that didn’t take long. Looks like the ship date is now set at Jan 11th for Pre-Orders.
