The HTC Salsa looks to be HTC’s answer to Blackberry devices. It’s shape and form factor match it closely. It’s a GSM build Android, with a 2.6″ QVGA (that’s 320×240 pixel) landscape style 4 row qwerty keyboard phone. It will have a 528Mhz processor which we Android lovers have come to recognize. Like most the Android phones from HTC in 2010, it will include an FM radio as well. Also included is all the social network apps that HTC has been known to throw into their Android builds. However, I’m not sure if it’s going to have Sense UI on it or not. I imagine it will, but couldn’t say for sure. Also take note that the current leaked specs do not include “compass”. On some of the other leaked phone’s specs, it clearly states “compass” and I’m wondering if it was just left out by accident or if it was on purpose.
The other specs are fairly typical for a modern smart phone:
- GSM 3G Speeds, 7.2mbps down 2mbps up.
- GPS/AGPS
- Accerometer
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- 802.11b/g
- Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR
- microSD slot
- 3.2MP Camera
This should make some people in the mobile market very happy. Those who love the physical style of a blackberry, but want to customization of Android. Look for this Android phone June of 2010.
