T-Mobile added the ability to charge app purchases directly to your T-Mobile bill instead of paying for them via the standard practice in the Android Market. This was done through an “invisible” update which requires no work on the end of the user.
This is a rolling wave update, so not everyone can do this right away. It started on the 9th of December and it should be complete by the 30th. To see if you can take advantage of this new feature, check your Market app version. If it reads anything above 1660 you should have the update in place and the ability to charge those purchases to your bill, so rock and roll. What I’m not clear on at this time is, if you are currently with T-Mobile on a corporate discount rate plan, does the discount apply to app purchases as well, if they are posted to your bill? Or would they be full price? Anyone with a T-Mobile account on a corporate discount want to try this out for us and report back?
