British retail biggy, eXpansys, is reporting that the folks in the UK are crazy for the Milestone, the GSM version of the Motorola Droid in the States. Expansys is apparently a large enough company that the data from their stores could be considered relatively meaningful. They don’t say exactly how many Milestones they sold, but they were sold out in about 2.5 hours after launch yesterday. They had over 1000 pre orders for the Milestone and according the eXpansys they had to increase their order to Motorola twice. That may not indicate it sold many, maybe that just means they way underestimated and understocked. But, they did state it was the fastest selling gadget on their website’s 11 year history, doing even better than the mighty iPhone. Don’t worry if you missed out and think nothing fun will wrapped for you during the holidays, “The demand for the Motorola Milestone has been staggering. We received the units at 10am on Thursday, 2.5 hours later we had sold out. A second shipment is already on the way and should be arriving in time for Christmas orders”.
