Duarlander – Home for Android App Testing

Duarlander is an Android community powered by the users and built for developers.  It’s goal is simple: Connect users with Android devices to developers wishing to test their application on multiple Android devices.  Sure, there is an emulator and you can run through the different screen sizes etc, but it leaves out the unknowns like processor speed and real world performance of the application on the Android phone.  That is where Duarlander comes in handy.

Duarlander is a community where Android™ users
test applications for Android™ developers.

With Duarlander, every developer can ensure their application
works on every device, and anyone with an Android™ phone can make money.

Here’s how it works:

  • First, developers and users are of course free to self organize.
  • If a developer would like, Duarlander will organize the testing
of an application for a small fee, and will in turn pay users for their effort.

That’s the main point of it and seems like a great idea.  The more users testing an application before it’s introduced to the market, the more likely small bugs or problems are worked out ahead of time, enabling the rest of the Android users to benefit as well as the developers.  We don’t know how well the process works at this time, it’s fairly new and has a few hurdles to overcome I’m sure, but if you think this is something you’d like to get in on, head on over and sign up.  Report back to us how it went and we will update this post.
