Possible myTouch Slide User Agent and Specs

Even more evidence of an HTC built myTouch with a physical qwerty keyboard are surfacing this morning.  Following a number of links back from a story on tmonews, took me all the way to Cellpassion who somehow found a link to the user agent string on one of HTC’s websites that might be for the myTouch Slide, or whatever they may end up calling it.

The user string is used to help identify the capabilities of the hardware accessing websites.  As such, it will often pass on information about the input and output methods of the hardware.  Found within the user string is a reference to a qwerty keyboard on a device being called “Magic”, known as the myTouch 3G in the US.  Also found is a screen resolution of 320×480, an ARM11 process, and is sporting the Android Browser 1.5, which indicates this will not have Android 2.0 or 2.1 out of the gate, if in fact, this is the user agent for a qwerty myTouch.

UPDATE: Even more interesting, I tried changing the “Sapphire” portion of the HTC Possible myTouch Slide User String to “Espresso” and came up with a totally different user string.  It has pretty much the same settings, except of course, it’s called the Espresso instead of Magic and the Android Browser version reports 0.6.
