Looks like Google is going to try and expand it’s Nexus One into the last of the top four US cellular carriers. Engadget has uncovered an FCC filing that has an FCC label with almost identical ID numbers as the Nexus One currently in the market. The current Nexus One FCC ID is NM891100 and the new device’s ID is NM8991110. Also, this is not the CDMA version going to Verizon and by default Sprint as well, but instead features 3G frequencies that include WCDMA Bands I, II, and V – 2100Mhz, 1900Mhz, and 850Mhz respectively. Not only does that cover AT&T, but a number of networks in Canada and much of Europe.
Of course, I’d much rather it include all the four frequencies in the US, instead of making us choose one or the other, but at least there is a choice or will be soon, hopefully. With the Verizon and Sprint Nexus One just around the corner, maybe this will show itself at the same time. I wonder if this version would have the same 3G issues as the T-Mobile version.
