Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Accessories – MW600

November 3rd, 2009.  Along with the official announcement of the XPERIA X10 from Sony Ericsson, another lesser known device was announced; The SE MW600.  What’s that you ask?  The MW600 is a stereo bluetooth FM receiver that will accept any standard 3.5mm headphones/earphones and includes a small OLED screen for displaying called ID and or music track titles etc.  Also, it supports remote volume control of your phone as well as a few noise/volume enhancing features.

It looks like a slick and powerful accessory to any Android phone.  Since this was announced with the SE X10, it’s highly likely the XPERIA will fully support it, including the remote volume control, remote battery level indicator etc.  If it does, let’s hope it’ll be via an app, or widget so that other Androids can share in the fun.  Even if not all the functions are supported, I’d still be very interested in this accessory.  However, as of today, it’s still not available.  SE must be waiting for the X10 to release the MW600.  Come on SE, let’s see this thing now.

Superior sound

Each element of a Sony Ericsson music accessory is designed for the best audio performance. Clear sound, deep bass and better performance as standard.

Never miss a call

It’s called a stereo portable handsfree because it’s for more than listening. A microphone, call answer key and 3.5 mm jack to swap headphones are all built-in.

Compatibility

All Sony Ericsson wireless devices have been developed in coordination with Sony Ericsson mobile phones, but are also compatible with Bluetooth™-equipped handsets from other manufacturers.

Multipoint

Connect to two wireless devices simultaneously, allowing access to the music files in your computer, PDA or other Bluetooth™-equipped devices.

Neat and discreet

How you communicate reflects who you are. The hidden depths of a mirrored OLED display illuminates the information you need while you stay mobile.

The Bluetooth™ experience

Bluetooth™ wireless technology frees more than your hands – it lets your devices talk to each other without tangles, across ranges of up to 10 metres.

Wireless music streaming

With A2DP you can stream high-quality stereo music from your phone to your wireless headset or other Bluetooth™ devices.

Swap your headphones

Your Hi-Fi Wireless Headset with FM Radio MW600 has a 3.5 mm plug built in so that you can swap the headphones to match how you listen to music in your phone. Customized comfort for your ears.

Are there any in-line remotes like this for the nexus? My last phone had a simple in-line that I could plug my headphones into, and I really liked that.
