XPERIA X10 Android and AT&T – Coming April/May

XPERIA X10

XPERIA X10

We’ve all seen the rumors, and there have been plenty since Sony Ericsson first announced the XPERIA X10 early November of last year, that this nice Snapdragon powered phone would be going to AT&T instead of T-Mobile here in the US.  Well, according to BGR, their source states that AT&T will be getting the X10 100% for sure.  AT&T users can look for it April/May time frame, which misses the 1Q10 time frame originally quoted and then emphasized again.  It’s still a strong phone, but not quite the leader of the pack it could have been had it been released last year, or even early this year.

The X10 comes packed with a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, which at the time was a first.  Now, it’s fairly normal and there are a number of Snapdragon Androids.  It carries a nice big 4″ screen in the 480×854 range, but lacks AMOLED.  It does carry an Android unique 8MP camera which does appear to take some fantastic photos and good videos.  From my past experience with SE camera phones, this could be it’s strongest feature.  The other unique offering that keeps this phone at the top of some lists is the User eXperience interface built on top of it’s Android 1.6 base.  The UX features some impressive interfaces for your social and media needs with Timescape, Mediascape and the infinite button.

  • Other specs include 1GB phone memory on board
  • Wifi
  • GPS
  • ActiveSync
  • Bluetooth
  • Two color Options

See our original Xperia post for some videos of the interface, which is the XPERIA’s strongest selling point.  Also, take a look at the sample photos and video taken with an X10.
