Motorola Backflip Coming to AT&T March 7, $100 After Rebate

AT&T has just announced that its first Android handset, the Motorola Backflip will be available March 7.

Just to remind you, the Backflip is a 3.1″-screen, reverse flip qwerty, which has two positions, one which props it open like an easel for watching video on a flat surface, and fully open for typing. They’re officially calling the backside trackpad the “BACKTRACK,” which is ever so inventive, and is apparently “a new way to scroll through the Web, texts, e-mails and news feeds without obscuring the home screen.” The Backflip also includes MotoBLUR, the add-on skin which syncs social networks like MySpace, Twitter, and Facebook with your address book contacts.

Apparently it will be $199, and will come with a $100 rebate, of the mail-in variety, which apparently will be paid via AT&T “Promotion Card”, which really isn’t a rebate at all, since you’re still forced to spend the $100. So if you abslutely have to have Android on AT&T, March 7th is your day!
