Qualcomm has a good market already setup for Android devices. They are currently powered all but a handful of Android models with various chip sets, from the initial Android MSM7201 in the T-Mobile G1, all the way up to the now famous Snapdragon QSD8250 that powers the Nexus One among others. Well, Qualcomm demoed it’s latest offering, the 7×30 series at WMC earlier this month and the demo looks promising. The 7×30 is a system on a chip much like the QSD8250, which actually uses the same Scorpion processor as the snapdragon but adds a few more multimedia features
Included in the 7×30 series, is some HDMI output as well as 720p playback via the included 2D and 3D graphics that support OpenGL ES 2.0 and OpenVG 1.1. Also included is 5.1 audio support and support for up to a 12 MP camera. The word is, the demos shown have some very nice 3D games as well as “silky smooth” Flash video playback using Flash 10.1.
