Looks like the previous leak of “really soon” left a bit of a stretch. Three weeks to be exact. It appears that the HTC Incredible will be coming April 29th, according to a leaked document and a number of confirmations to AndroidandMe. Wow, I’m not one to complain much, but when I think “really soon”, I tend to think in days, not weeks. Be that as it may, this looks to be Verizon’s third Android handset, or fourth depending on when the Verizon Nexus One or N1V finally makes it out. Since Verizon did mention that good things come to those who wait, I’m hoping that the Incredible’s name accurately describes the Android phone.
The latest leaked specs for the Incredible include the same 3.7 AMOLED 800×480 screen that can be found on the Nexus One. In the back it has an 8MP cam with dual LED flash and inside it’s running a Snapdragon processor, reported underclocked at 768Mhz. It will have Android 2.1, with the nice Sense UI interface on top of it. Instead of the trackball, it’s been replaced with an optical trackpad, which HTC has done with all it’s latest phones, including the Desire and Legend. Finally, it may come with up to 6GB of internal storage.
