myTouch 3g Slide for T-Mobile – Android 2.1 QWERTY

T-Mobile and HTC have made it official. Starting this June you can pick up your very own myTouch 3G Slide, a sort of marriage between the myTouch 3G and the G1, both currently available exclusively on T-Mobile.  Besides the slide out QWERTY keyboard, the MT3G Slide features a 3.4″ HVGA screen, a 5MP camera with flash, and a heavily customized Android 2.1.  The real news isn’t necessarily the hardware, which is somewhat lackluster.  No Snapdragon here, no large on board memory or high definition screen.  Don’t get discouraged though, like I said, it’s the software that’s special here.  Included with Android 2.1 are some myFaves style interface, a T-Mobile standard and a social integration interface which seems to mirror the latest trend such as MOTOBLUR.  If the physical keyboard isn’t your style, it’s got Swype keyboard pre-installed and finally the most interesting feature, Genius Button which is powered by Dragon Diction as a sort of voice search/voice command beefed up a bit.  Engadget reports that it’s actually extreme good at voice recognition in their brief experience with the phone.  Like previous myTouch 3G phones, it will come in the three myTouch colors or White, Black and Burgundy.
