As a little double bonus, T-Mobile’s VP of product innovation Andrew Sherrard told Techland that they are currently testing the Android 2.1 update for the original myTouch 3G internally. On top of that little tid-bit of news, he stated that it will feature a UI much like the myTouch Slide and even have a “Genius Button” as well. This seems a little surprising to me. The original myTouch 3G has only 192MB of RAM and it would be a surprise if it was able to handle a heavy UI load like the one found on the Slide. However, the original article didn’t state it would be exactly the same, just match it. Possibly it’s a middle ground build of the UI, with some elements missing. However, if I’m wrong then yea! Let’s hope the testing goes well and T-Mobile makes an announcement sooner than later.
