Just in case you weren’t aware, Google I/O starts today, right now. So, we will be using this post to help announce the news as fast as possible. I’m trying to keep track of the I/O live and will post updates here.
9:05am: Just announced a couple extra surprises tomorrow, so the Keynote is moving up 30 minutes.
First round of talks cover HTML5.
Many different demos of HTML5 for better web experiences as well as VP8 + Vorbis as an open codec for web video content with HTML5.
9:34am – Kevin Lynch for Adobe takes Stage. Going to focus on HTML5 and what Adobe is doing with it. Dreamweaver support first, with some look into quick editing for mobile devices.
Going to implement VP8 into Flash.
9:45am Now looking into web applications and a web application store on Chrome. Purchase web apps like Android Apps and iPhone Apps. Apps can be built on HTML5, Flash etc and they are all supported. Demoing a cool 3D, Lego Star Wars game in browser.
10:00am After a lengthy Sports Illustrated demo, some more HTML5 love, they are moving to discussion of Google Wave. Seems to be HTML5/Web based keynote.
I decided to skip past the updates for this one. It was primarily a web/html keynote and not really geared towards Android. I suspect tomorrows will be much more interesting for those of us here at the Droids. Check back tomorrow.
