Verizon isn’t try to hide much about the Droid X. The official Droid splash screen over at Verizon has been updated with the Droid X prominently in the middle. The only details revealed at this time is an HDMI output, a 4.3″ display apparently running at 720P. Now, we all know how marketing can twist things around, so take this with a grain of salt, but in the HDTV world, 720P means 1280×720 pixels most of the time. With other resolutions from 1024×768 to 1366×768 in there. However, resolution is very unlikely that high and the marketing group at Verizon is simply over zealous with their terms. UPDATE: I’m gonna change that statement. It’s possible this is true, making the display with approximately 341 pixel per inch(ppi), beating Apple’s iPhone 4 display of 326 ppi. that’s assuming it really is 1280×720 and 4.3″. Wow. UPDATE 2: Now it reads “Captures 720P”, as in the HD video capabilities and not 720p Screen. Oh well.
I will leave it at that for now, I’m sure we’ll know soon enough, as in less than a weak, what the rest of the specs will be and what exactly “720p Screen” means.
