T-Mobile G2 – HSPA+ Android Phone

Looks like T-Mobile is gearing up and starting the excitement buildup for the G2 it’s first HSPA+ capable smart phone.  While this splash screen appeared earlier this morning, it has since been removed with a simple, please check back later message.  Oh, we’ll keep checking, don’t worry T-Mobile.  For those unaware, T-Mobile USA’s HSPA+ network has already been setup in over 50 major markets in the US with an expected complete roll out by the end of 2010 for everywhere T-Mobile’s 3G coverage exists.  The speed of the network? 21mbps.  It appears though, in the fine print, that the G2 is limited to 14.4mbps.  This is the theoretical maximum and T-Mobile is calling it “4G speeds”.  What is Sprint’s 4G speed? “3 -6 mbps average with a peak of over 10 mbps.” Sprint’s Page on 4G.  So, I’m thinking that calling it “4G speeds” is perfectly acceptable, especially since the area of 4G is so vague as it is.  Anyway, let’s hope this comes to full fill all our expectations.
