Just announced is the Samsung built Infuse for AT&T’s HSPA+ network. The Infuse is being called a 4G phone, along the same lines as T-Mobile, it works on the HSPA+ network which promises faster speeds, but it could be called more along the lines of 3.5G. Call it what you will, it looks to be a serious AT&T Android phone. One of the biggest features, both figuratively and literally, is the 4.5″ “Super AMOLED plus” screen. It’s said to have increase the subpixel count by about 50% for better contrast and outdoor readability. I’d be interested to see how this affects the PenTile matrix. Or more accurately, has the PenTile matrix changed. Also included are a 1.2Ghz Hummingbird processor, 8MP camera on back – I’m seeing a trend here – and a 1.3MP front facing camera. It appears to be crazy thin and part of the Samsung Galaxy S line of phones. Samsung must be milking the “Galaxy S” line as much as possible to continue the “10 million sold” count going. Engadget has some initial impressions on a dummy sample, but it sounds promising as they call it “exceptionally high-quality”.
