Samsung Next Galaxy Technical Details Emerge
It won’t be too long until the official announcement is made by Samsung, but if you can’t wait for May 3rd to get here, there is some rumored detailed information about the upcoming successor to the Galaxy S II line. It’s nothing revolutionary from a technical standpoint. We have yet to see the industrial design and there may still be features not yet known, but what is known is some of the internal hardware.
For starters it appears it will use a 1.5Ghz quad-core Exynos 4412 SOC coupled with a Mali-400 MP CPU. That’s a quad core ARM Cortex-A9 chip for the techies out there. There had been some rumors that Samsung would be installing the next gen Exynos 5XXX series SOC that feature Cortex-A15 cores, but we’ll just have to wait on that. Other components appear to be fairly standard for this level of a phone, including 1GB of RAM, NFC, 8MP camera (details unknown) and a battery around 2000mAh. However, the leak comes from a technical preview phone, which has all the right hardware, but not necessarily in the right package, and I’d suspect that the battery could change depending on the final design.
On top of that technical preview phone is a nice 1280×720 at 4.5″ screen, which appears to be of the AMOLED variety and the only buttons are on-screen buttons.
