November 3rd, 2009. Along with the official announcement of the XPERIA X10 from Sony Ericsson, another lesser known device was announced; The SE MW600. What’s that you ask? The MW600 is a stereo bluetooth FM receiver that will accept any standard 3.5mm headphones/earphones and includes a small OLED screen for displaying called ID and or music track titles etc. Also, it supports remote volume control of your phone as well as a few noise/volume enhancing features. This is a nice hidden feature that was discovered. The Motorola CLIQ has the built in hardware for FM reception, it just wasn’t supported with any software. Not any more. A user named Eugene was rooting around the Motorola CLIQ ROM files and noticed a few things referencing FM radio. So, with a few extra files copied over, and a nice FM radio app he found, he was able to enable listening to FM radio on the Motorola CLIQ. Continue Reading…
The rumors of an HTC Supersonic roaming around the Sprint world sporting 4G connectivity may be real. Over the night a number of images and and leaks appeared showing off the HTC Supersonic in some good and some bad photos. As we reported earlier from some leaked information only, it appears to be very similar in design to the HD2, with a nice big 4.3″ display. It should come with a 1Ghz Snapdragon on board, and I imagine plenty of ROM and RAM for everyone to be happy. In our earlier report the informant stated it had a little kickstand and came in white, but the most interesting part is, this phone is setup to use the 4G network Sprint has. Other specs include Android 2.1 and Sense UI along with an FM tuner. This could be a very interesting phone indeed. Let’s hope it comes out sooner than later.

SE Also introduced a new wireless headphone set that includes FM radio support. They specifically released this with their X10, and it looks pretty slick as well, but I cannot comment on performance. It’s basically a wireless headset adapter, with a 3.5mm port, so you can use any headset you know and love with this device. But, it also includes the FM radio and a microphone and a button to support answering your phone. All this is done via bluetooth of course, so while it’s built for with the X10 in mind, it should support any phone with a bluetooth connection. I know this isn’t Android powered or anything, but it’s related enough and I was interested in it enough to think others would also like to read about it.
