Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X10 has been in works for many months now. Rumors of it’s release are getting hotter and hotter. It’s been a while since SE first started to show off it’s Android phone and since then, Android OS has changed, updated and moved on. Engadget Gets Another Hands-On with Xperia X10

Engadget was able to get another little early hands-on time with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. They stated that this time around they noticed the speed of the device depended greatly on the amount of content on the phone itself. They state that sometimes it was race through apps and other times just slow to a crawl. So, it sounds like there is still alot of work to be done with the interface, which is now being referred to as Nexus. But they have some new photos, and a nice little video to go with it.
Oh yeah, and rumors are the X10 will run around $879 US. I might have to get a larger piggy bank if I want to save for that. Let’s home the rumors aren’t true.

A post on the Sony Ericsson Product Blog has brought fourth some sample photos and a sample video from the SE Xperia X10. This phone is set to be released in the UK in Feb of 2010, but no word yet on a US release date. However, since it does specifically support all the US market cellular frequencies, you can rest assured it will be making it’s way here. Continue Reading…
SE Also introduced a new wireless headphone set that includes FM radio support. They specifically released this with their X10, and it looks pretty slick as well, but I cannot comment on performance. It’s basically a wireless headset adapter, with a 3.5mm port, so you can use any headset you know and love with this device. But, it also includes the FM radio and a microphone and a button to support answering your phone. All this is done via bluetooth of course, so while it’s built for with the X10 in mind, it should support any phone with a bluetooth connection. I know this isn’t Android powered or anything, but it’s related enough and I was interested in it enough to think others would also like to read about it.

Sony has come clean this morning, finally unveiling their much rumored and videoed XPERIA X10. For those that don’t remember, this was once called the X3 or possibly even the Infinity. Well, here it is, in all it’s press shots glory. It comes with a 1Ghz Snapdragon cpu from Qualcom, none of that 768Mhz whimpyness we read about yesterday in Acer’s Liquid. It has a whooping 4″ wide 480×854 WVGA capacitive touchscreen to show you that really slick looking Rachael interface we’ve seen floating around. Though they are now calling it UX, for User eXperience. I think that makes a little more sense, because people don’t want other people in their cell phone. It’s running on top of Android 1.6 Donut. In back there is an 8.1″ MP cam with LED flash, and once again, let me just say with my past experience with SE camera’s on phones, I’m really interested to see how this one works out.

Sony Ericsson has an event scheduled for Nov. 3rd and all sources are saying it’s the release of their Android powered X3 running the Rachael UI that makes SE’s Android so special. The linked doorstep website has numerous references to Rachael in the coding (view page source to see). It’s likely to have a 4″ screen, might run a Snapdragon and quite probably has Android 2.0.
Looks like Sony’s addition to the Android family is finally starting to get photographed and tested. It’s a big one, with many features. Besides the usual Android features, this boasts a 800 x 400 pixel screen, an 8MP camera with LED flash and of course a 3.5mm headphone jack.
